VLOGMAS WEEK 1

8 Dec 2016

I have successfully completed a week of Vlogmas! I have been vlogging the best I can since the beginning of December and hope to continue until the end of the month. Some people stop on the 25th but I think I'll continue till the 31st.

It's been a hard week because I've been having a very hard time with IBS, Anxiety and Fibromyalgia. Something I talk more about in the last video of the week 'VLOGMAS DAY 7'. I got quite pumped up about talking about it so I videoed and then had to decided whatever or not to upload it as it's a difficult subject and not something I talk about that much. It's not a secret or anything or something I want to hide it's just personal and as you know talking about your mental and physical health too strangers and for all to see can be very daunting.

Anyhow there is lots of other things in my vlogs including Albi the Bearded Dragon (he's the cutest!), lots of Steve, some donkey friends, our awesome spooky Christmas Tree, different make-up looks and lipsticks that I'm obsessed with, my birthday and birthday presents!

So I'll post them all below where you can check them out. I would really appreciate some likes or comments just to let me know you're watching :) You can view the whole playlist here as well!

*Yet to come on Vlogmas: A better look at the presents I got for my birthday, more mental health talk, movies and TV talk, Albi and Steve, foods! and I'll definitely try and do a Q&A type thing with Steve that I think would be fun!

VLOGMAS DAY 1: MEET ALBI

VLOGMAS DAY 2: THE USUAL

VLOGMAS DAY 3: PUTTING UP OUR SPOOKY CHRISTMAS TREE

VLOGMAS DAY 4: FIBROMYALGIA SUCKS

VLOGMAS DAY 5: MY BIRTHDAY

VLOGMAS DAY 6: OPENING PRESENTS

VLOGMAS DAY 7: BEING HONEST AND OPEN ABOUT IBS, ANXIETY AND FIBROMYALGIA

Thanks so much for reading/watching!
Lots more to come :)

Some Changes + Vlogtober 2016!

14 Nov 2016

So, I'm not too sure if you guys have noticed but I've changed my name! I was Spooky Ash but I'm now going with my real name Aishling O'Neill. I've thought about this for awhile and I think it just makes things a bit simpler and joins things up with my Photography Blog and Facebook, this way when my name is searched you'll find me in all places! I just wanted to make it a bit handier and clearer as to who I am! I hope it doesn't cause too much confusion but I doubt it will because I have such a small following! So it's the perfect time to do it really! :D Oh and I'm very much still "spooky" and will have lots of "spooky" related posts coming, that hasn't changed ;)

I can now be found at aishlingoneill.blogspot.ie
Twitter: @AishlingO_Neill
Instagram: @AishlingO_Neill
Tumblr: aishling-oneill.tumblr.com
YouTube: youtube.com/aishlingoneill

That's the site names I've changed so far and places I'm most active.

I haven't posted on my blog for quite sometime because at the beginning of the year I was extremely unwell with anxiety. It's something I might discuss in future, in a YouTube video maybe but for now I'm focusing on feeling better, enjoying it and YouTubing loads. You may not have known but I actually have been posting lots of YouTube videos over the last couple of months.

Today I thought I'd share with you my Vlogtober playlist! Yes that's right, I actually vlogged everyday in October! I actually did it! And it was actually quite fun! I would really appreciate if you guys could check it out and give me your thoughts! I'd love to know what you think! I talk and show all sorts in the videos so if you want to know more about me it's the place to go!

I also have lots more videos on there and will share them in another blog post soon. Until then you can check them out here.

It's good to be back blogging again and I'm having so much fun with YouTube. If you have a YouTube yourself please do link it below or if you're thinking of starting one let me know too!

Thanks, as always :)

Spooky Box Club: Haunted Library Unboxing

11 Nov 2016

I'm back with a Spooky Box Club unboxing and just like all the others, this one did not disappoint!
This one is called the Haunted Library box and I was super excited to see what book related items would be included. Too learn more about Spooky Box Club I'll link you back to this post where I explain all about it and how to get good shipping to Ireland.

Anyhow onto the goodies!
You can watch the video here as I open everything and get all the surprises! Or you can keep scrolling to see photos of all the items.

First up is this amazing stamp that says "This Book Belongs To..." and you can write your name or whatever you like in the blank space. The detail is just so lovely and it's really a big stamper as well! It's not little and has a lovely wooden handle. I do have ink somewhere so I must see if I can use it!

"Once Upon A Midnight Dreary" patch with a little raven on the side. This is just too cute and again its a really good size and can be used as a back patch! Can't wait to sew this onto something!

They included a pin in every box and this box's one is an amazing Ghost Stories book pin! I just love it so much and will be wearing it all the time! So spooky!

This glow in the dark ghost bookmark is just too cute and super handy! I already have him making the pages of the book I'm reading (Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children).

There wasn't one, or two but THREE amazing pillow cases in this box! I was so surprised and delighted with them! I can't wait to get pillows for them!

A cute lil print! I have so many prints from these boxes now and I badly need to get frames for them all!

Another surprising thing added to this box was tea! I really wasn't expecting tea but what a great thing to add! And it smells super amazing!

Also included was the usual lollipop that Steve claimed and ate! It was very tasty!

Overall I'm super happy with this box and there's nothing that won't get used. As always its just such a fantastic subscription box and I already can't wait for the next one!

Just to remind you again I speak more about it here in this blog post and give a bit more info about it and shipping to Ireland.

What was your favourite item in this box? Do you think you'll be subscribing?! The next box is the Voodoo box and I just can't wait for it and will have a video and blog post all about it for sure!

Thanks so much for reading and watching the video if you did! I would really appreciate if you subscribed!

Spooky Box Club: Ghost Box Unboxing (Spoilers!)

18 May 2016

It's been awhile! I've been wanting to blog more for the longest time now but unfortunately I've been suffering with crippling anxiety for the last few months, hence why there hasn't been much blog posts from me or much activity from me on my social media accounts. I'm recovering, getting help and trying to get myself together by buying lots of enamel pins (yes I've even more now since that blog post so an updated one is due!) and subscribing to the Spooky Box Club!

I've been wanting to subscribe to Spooky Box ever since it started and have actually been following them since then. I was unable to purchase though as I didn't have the money at the time. The box itself is £21 which works out at about €27. But it was mainly the shipping that was the problem as it's £14.50 international which is about €20. I honestly just didn't have that much money for a subscription box even though I obsessively watched Toxic Tears unboxing videos and WANTED EVERYTHING. Like there was the odd thing I didn't like but the majority of the stuff I NEEDED. I've seen so many makeup and geeky sub boxes but after awhile they get so crap (Steve used to be subscribed to Horror Block and that's gone to total crap now) but Spooky Box always had so much stuff I just loved and wanted but with the Euro being so bad, damn Euro!, I just couldn't justify it. Until, for us very lucky Irish peoples, AnPost started up My Address Pal! It's like Parcel Motel but cheaper! This meant I could get the UK shipping (£3.98 €5) and then pay Address Pal €3.50 for shipping to Ireland!

I wasn't sure whether or not to post that bit of information as I don't want Spooky Box to be losing out on money. But I assume they use all the £14.50 on shipping and not for the box itself? That me, paying the £21 (€27) is what goes to them and keeps them going? If you know what I mean! All I'll say is, If you can afford it go for it and if not Address Pal is an amazing option if you can't.

My money conversions aren't the greatest I've just noticed (I was using an online converter but Paypal's converter is slightly different!) but I'm paying €32.98 for the box which includes UK shipping and then the €3.50 at the post office for the Address Pal. I hope that all made sense and helped anyone wanting to subscribe in Ireland and that Spooky Box gets lots of subscribers now!

OK enough rambling about shipping, I finally subscribed and oh my holy ghost was I excited! I have it all posted on my snapchat: fluffyvw (won't be available for long!) and I LOVE EVERY SINGLE THING.

**Super obvious but if you have subscribed and are waiting for the Ghost Box I'm spoiling it completely in this blog post so look away now!!**

Super cute lil ghost sticker on the box!

When you open the box there is some leaflets on top all about spooky box and then a list of everything that's included in this months box! I did quickly put that one to the side as I wanted the contents to be a surprise for me! There is then some lovely purple paper noodles on top keeping everything padded and safe! They came off all in one for me luckily and all the contents were below it! :D

The first thing I noticed was this AMAZING Coffin pin! There has been pins included in some of the past boxes and that's why it says pin no. 3! I would love the others but I'm so happy I got this one as it's super spooky and will add nicely to my collection of enamel pins.

Next was this cute ghost hair clip! I currently don't have much hair but I can still clip it to my bag or jacket! I love it!

Look at this cute little ghostie with its lil cheeks! I don't think I'll be able to put this on my phone but I will definitely find something to put it on! Oh and there is also a little bell on it and it has a cute little bell sound!

I will definitely be wearing this amazing sad ghost necklace ALL THE TIME. Look at it!! More cute!!

When I saw this fantastic Ghost Hunter patch I nearly died!!! LOOK!!! It's so amazing and I will be for sure starting a ghost related DIY jacket that I can put this on! :D

Tote bags make me super happy. I honestly think I need to do a blog post (or a video possibly?) on my awesome collection of tote bags. This is down as a Lunch bag as it's a bit smaller than your normal tote but it can be used for many things!

I love the print SO MUCH!!! Like I mean you guys?! How wonderful is all this stuff?! DYING. It has a zip also just to make things even better! :D I also included a photo of the Spooky Box Club label that's on the inside! Even the label's cool.

Not gonna lie, totally cried when I saw this! I'm going to be moving soon and things like this just make me very happy as I will be decorating my house all things spooky, cute and Halloweeny! I just can't wait to put up this pennant and then it will be Halloween everyday in my house. Sorry that the pics don't really show the size but it's about 20 inches I think! Could be totally off but it's a really decent size!

And the last thing included in the box were these amazing ghost prints! Again these will go so lovely in my new house and I can't wait to get them framed! They're both about 7x5 I think again sorry don't have accurate sizes but around that size anyhow! :D

In the very bottom of the box and throughout the box as I was taking things out were these SO CUTE lil ghost confettis! I have since gathered them all together and put them in a little bag so I can use them for something in future! They're too good to waste :P

I made this cute little video of them on my instagram!

The last photos I have for you guys is just a close up of the cards that come in the box. You can see in the first image there are links to all Spooky Box's social websites and where you can sign up! Then there is a card with all the things you get listed on it! Including a nice little introduction at the top! Also some of the money from SpookyBox goes to Cancer Research which is pretty awesome! (Another reason to subscribe!)

I just realized I forgot to take a picture of the lovely lollipop which is candy floss flavour! I have it put aside to have on a special day! It looks so lovely though! So that's been my rundown of everything I got in this months box! As you can probably tell, I'm SO happy with everything! Even though it was a bit late as they were waiting on items to include and then with Address Pal you add a few days to delivery, it was well, well worth the wait!

I cannot wait for the next one which has the theme of "How Does Your Gothic Garden Grow" like, how am I actually going to be able to wait!! I think though all subs for that box is finished but you can subscribe for the Black Cats one here! Update: actually the Black Cat one seems to be out of stock! So you might have to wait until the next subscription is up! Keep an eye on their site and instagram for updates!

I literally cannot wait for future boxes and will definitely have more blog posts about them! I'm also hoping to do video unboxings when I'm feeling a bit better.

Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you're thinking of subscribing!!

Photo Diary: Strandhill, Sligo, Ireland

25 Mar 2016

At first I was like, I'll load all the photos into a blog post and then remove ones that look too similar or not as good as others and then I just decided to leave them all in cos effort and I like all the shots :P Plus it's my blog, I'll do as I please, mwhahaha! :D

Steve and I decided to go up to Sligo in October last year for a weekend to visit my aunt and her cats and have a wander around. Our first stop was Strandhill. A lovely little coastal village just outside of Sligo town. Once you get out of Sligo town it's pretty much a straight drive to the coast. We parked in a car-park just a couple of minutes walk from the beach itself. While in the car-park the above photo is your amazing view of Knocknarea! Knocknarea is a limestone hill and at the top is a large cairn which is believed to be a neolithic passage tomb that is believed to be Queen Maeve's resting place! Next time we visit I definitely would like to get to the top of it.

As we walked down past houses, some restaurants and pubs, you could feel the wind picking up and hear the sound of the waves.

I'm not used to being around the sea. I live in the midlands of Ireland and usually I might see it when I go to Dublin but never really go to beaches which I know has to change now.

You forget the great sound that comes from it and the sea air smell which is pleasant one moment and then smells like rotten eggs the next :P

The one thing we didn't predict was how bloody cold it was. I was lucky and brought my big warm coat and gloves but poor Steve nearly froze! He was wearing his own hoodie and a cardigan hoodie thing belonging to me. I would highly recommend to bring all the warm clothes with you all year round, even in summer just to be safe.

It was fairly windy as well and the waves were crashing and some mist was being thrown into the air and carried by the wind. The drizzle ended up all over my glasses and camera lens! It luckily didn't affect the photos too much.

Steve being very majestic even though he was freezing all his limbs off.

I couldn't figure out if I liked the colour or black and white better. I can never figure out which I prefer so you're getting both!

I know it seems the shots got very repetitive but when I look at them you can see different waves and different colours on the rocks and I just couldn't leave any out.

As we were walking along, behind us the sun was starting to set and was hid behind some clouds with these amazing rays peering out.

A little girl was playing out by the rocks. I have no idea how she was able to walk over them so spritely because I struggled to walk over them! They were an awkward size for my boots!

I see you crow! There was actually quite a lot of crows about and I missed a great shot of them a bit closer! I wasn't fast enough.

The sun continued to set and turned everything lovely and golden.

I had to try it in black and white as well of course :P

When you turned around and had the sea at your back you had another lovely view of Knocknaera!

Now for some pictures of ourselves! Look at that poser Steve.

An accidental shot that came out cute.

Can you spot the helicopter?! You can even see it going by in the two last pictures of us both! It was one of those rescue helicopters and we hoped that it was out for practice and nobody actually needed rescuing.

Back to us! :D

Sick of us yet? Yeah me too :P

We decided to walk as far as the square stone thing in middle of this picture to the right as it was getting way too cold to go much further.

Can you see the mist coming off the sea? We could feel it the whole time!

Steve waiting for me to catch up.

We finally made it to the square thing which had a little pool in the middle with lots of rocks around it, we think it was some kind of drain.

I really loved the way the light was hitting the waves and rocks. It was so golden and shiney!

Another break to see Knockarea in the distance.

Now for another few shots of the amazing sunset as we walked back. Don't let the sun fool you, it was bitter cold. My ears were hurting at this point!

We got there at a good time to have a little walk around in the daylight but then to enjoy the lovely sunset!

Just before leaving we hurried into a cafe along the beach before they closed and had some hot chocolate and peppermint tea to warm ourselves up. Steve was delirious from the cold as you can see above :P

Shells Cafe was a nice place to stop into and get warm. Even though it was near closing time they had no problem with us getting warm before they closed. We also got some awesome baked pumpkin cheesecake to bring back with us. It was delicious. The interior was very cute and quirky as you can see from the photos above!

The sunset was amazing when we stepped back outside into the cold! It was so lovely though and I love how the photos turned out.

And lastly from our lovely trip to Strandhill, Knocknarea hill with the moon above it.

Strandhill was so lovely and I can't wait to visit again, hopefully this summer in the warmer weather (Steve will be happy to hear that) and I'd love to walk a bit further along it as well.

Sorry for such an image heavy post but I really liked how it turned out with all of the photos in one place. It will be so nice to look back on it in future. I will have another post (I can hear you all so excited) about our trip to Rosses Point in Sligo, I have lots of photos but not as many as this you'll be delighted to know :P

I hope you enjoyed and let me know if you plan on visiting or if you've visited there before!

Thanks for braving this post! :D
