It's all just a bunch of Hocus Pocus!

31 Oct 2015

Ok before we get started, I'd like to give a soundtrack to this blog post and I think "I Put A Spell On You" from Hocus Pocus is perfect. So head over to YouTube and start playing! Now, I know you are all so jealous of my amazing Hocus Pocus t-shirt from Fright Rags! Unfortunately it was a pre-order and I don't think it's available anymore. Keep an eye on the site though as sometimes they bring shirts back from the graveyard and keep an eye on places like eBay as well.

Before I show you details of the tee and outfit here is some details of my make up! I really liked how I done my eyes. You can't see them very well above but I wanted to include this photo cos for some reason I look like I have purple hair! :D

As a base for my eyes I used the orangey colour in Seventeens Define and Conquer contour kit. The kits they have out are far too orange for my liking to use as a contour but as an autumn, grungy matt eyeshadow they're amazing. I have no idea what shade of kit I have because I see it nowhere on the box. But you can see little hints of orange and brown on the outer parts of the eye shadow. I then went in with Catrice's The Captain of the Black Pearl eye shadow into the crease and under the bottom lash line. I went over the top with a Blingtone purple glitter eye shadow which I bought years ago in Boots and never seen it anywhere again but it's amazing. I then used NYC's liquid liner for my wings which I use all the time now, it's so good, especially for the price. My eyebrows are my own and HD Brows power in a very dark brown blackish colour.

On my lips I have Nightmoth lipliner from Mac with NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania over top. The application isn't very neat as I didn't have much time to apply so please ignore that! But I love the colour so much and both those products go so well together.

My hat is from either Penneys/Primark or New Look. It was pretty cheap anyhow but good quality and I really like it! It gives an extra witchy look to the outfit. Lots of places are doing similar hats like this in store! My earrings are from Fashionology.nl awhile ago so not sure they still have them.

Fright Rags do amazing horror tees all year around, which between Steve and I, we have a wardrobe full! But at Halloween they usually have extra special shirts and this year they didn't disappoint! As soon as I knew it was going to be Hocus Pocus I knew I had to have it! I love the artwork and love how they included all the main characters! Like I said above, unfortunately it's not available anymore and this is one of the sad things about Fright Rags! Most of these special shirts you have to preorder and if you miss out you might never see them again. This is why we have far too many of them haha!

My kimono/cardigan thing is from Penney's. I think I bought it at the beginning of the year. It doesn't feel as nice and velvety as it looks but it still looks really nice and dresses up a t-shirt well.

My super cute wooden cat on a broomstick is from a wonderful site called Hey Chickadee and I want everything from it, especially all their Halloween stuff. Keep an eye on them after Halloween as this necklace and others might go on sale! I bought this necklace a couple of years ago so the one on site is a little different now! The cat is coloured in black and has a yellow eye!

The trees behind me in the photo above are called The Three Sisters. I thought this location was perfect for this post seeing as Hocus Pocus involves three wicked witches! I was told by my teacher in school but I can't remember the story that went along with it but just remember being told they were called The Three Sisters. I could be totally making this up but that's what I remember anyhow!

Outfit:
Penney's/Primark Kimono
H&M Leggings
Penney's or New Look Hat
Purple Doc Martens

Thanks to Steve as always for taking such great photos, I won't have been able to post any of these outfit posts without him. <3

Let me know what you think of the outfit and if you'll be searching for that Hocus Pocus tee somewhere!

Happy Halloween! Have a wonderful one!

Lush Halloween Review

30 Oct 2015

I thought I was going to miss out on Lush's Halloween items this year as I don't live near a Lush (closest one is in Dublin, I'm in the midlands.) I was going to buy online but it ended up being a ridiculous price for just 4 items. Well over €50 because it's from the UK site and with the conversion rate being so bad, on top of shipping, in euros it ended up being way too much. I love Lush but they really need to get an Irish website going. They would get ALL my money. Seriously.

Anyhow, I got lucky because my sister, Kerrie, was going up to Dublin so she managed to get me all four of the Halloween items Lush has on offer this year. YAY! All of this worked out to around €35. So a big difference to the €50+ the online shop was looking for.

I will say I'm pretty disappointed that Lush hadn't more to offer. They had little sets, A Pumpkin and Bat Heebie Jeebie. The Bat one had the Nightwing Shower Jelly and a little bottle of Lord of Misrule. The Pumpkin had the Lord of Misrule bath bomb and the Sparkly Pumpkin. Both sets were £9.99 each from when I last saw them but it worked out cheaper to just buy everything separately rather than in the sets which was a bit stupid? So you were just paying for the packaging really.

So that's all the complaining I have to do. Mainly about the sets and just not a great selection. One year I got an amazing Spellbound box with 4 different bath items and it was amazing. I was sad there wasn't something like that this year.

But after that, I love everything!

The Lord of Misrule bath bomb is one of my all time favourite items from Lush. I get it every year. Wonderfully spicy/earthy with hints of vanilla, it slowly melts away the green and then begins to fizz. I don't want to say much more because I'd hate to ruin the surprise on anyone who hasn't used it! Also why I didn't use video demos or anything on this blog post. I just don't want to give too much away and if you don't want to see how it works be careful when you click onto Lush's website! They're terrible at giving away what some bath bombs do. But if you like spicy, earthy smells, this is one for you!

Sparkly Pumpkin is another one returning this year. I think the glitteriness of this one puts some people off but not me. I looooove alllll the glitter! :D The glitter isn't as crazy as you think. Its light and doesn't linger too much on the skin. Being a bubble bar you can get a good few uses out of this one. It smells just like Refresher bars! That's what it reminds me of anyhow! But when it's in the bath the smell changes a bit. It smells amazing! I can't explain it unfortunately! Just one you have to try yourself. Oh and it makes bubbles! Lots and lots of bubbles! :D

Nightwing is a shower jelly. I've only ever used one other shower jelly, which I can't remember what it was? They can be a bit difficult to work with but this one smells so good! Just like fruit pastilles as it says on the tub. I didn't take him out but he's shaped like a bat. I didn't have anything to leave him down on but it will be another surprise for anyone who has yet to get him. Or you can see him on Lush's website! You can use it all over your body as well as your hair! I really can't wait to try it in my hair and see how long that amazing smell lingers!

And lastly the most amazing thing of all, the Lord of Misrule Shower Cream! Kerrie managed to get me the last 500g one in the shop! But on the website you can get 1kg and I kinda want to buy that too. I think this smells a little sweeter than the bath bomb but still smells amazing and is my favourite thing. One thing I noticed when I first used it was it didn't foam as much as other shower gels that they have and was a little confused. The formula is also quite runny and Steve thinks it looks like paint! :D It wasn't until after that I found out it's a shower cream! Probably why they called it shower scream, eh? :P Silly me! Anyhow a shower cream is more moisturising than a shower gel and you can definitely feel that. It's so very green with a wonderful shimmer through it but doesn't leave either on your skin. It leaves just a lovely smell and soft skin!

Overall I love every one of these items and I just wish there was more selection! I also hate that they bring out the Christmas stuff at the same time and then the Halloween stuff gets lost. Also maybe the reason there isn't much of a selection? Damn you Christmas! I love you but hate the way it takes over Halloween. I hope I'm able to repurchase some of the items before they go! If you like the sounds of anything mentioned go get them quick before they're gone!

Did you like any of the Halloween items this year from Lush? Used any yet? Let me know below!
Thanks for reading :)

3 Movies You Should Watch This Halloween #5

I think we all know this one! But I can't not include it! :D

A few different stories in one so it's hard to tell you want it is about, Trick R Treat is done so well and has a spookier, scarier and gorier feel than any other films on this list. It has a wonderful Halloweeny feel and has quickly became a film we have to watch every Halloween just like Hocus Pocus!

Paranorman is a wonderful supernatural stop motion film. Norman is not just like any other kid, he can see and talk to the dead. When his uncle warms him that an old witches curse is about to come true, he must try to stop it from destroying his town. It's such a beautiful looking film. Funny and quite sad. A must see this Halloween!

3 Movies You Should Watch This Halloween #4

29 Oct 2015

I seen the original Halloween movie when I was younger, sometime in my teens I think and I just didn't get it. I didn't like it, I was bored and ended up not watching the rest of it. I know, I know. Being such a classic I should love it but at the time it just didn't do it for me. I have to rewatch it at some point just to be sure. I may appreciate it a bit more now that I'm older. Steve made me watch the third Halloween movie and it's completely different and has nothing to do with Michael Myers and I think that's why I loved it so much (and why others hated it so much). It's about a crazy mask maker who wants his Silver Shamrock masks to kill kids for an ancient ritual. Fun times! And well worth a watch this Halloween!

This was one I found myself watching on tv sometime ago. I had no idea what it was until a few years later when saw it on tumblr and found out it was called Halloweentown! Of course I have to watch it every year now! Marnie finds out she's a witch and must save a town full of spooky Halloween creatures. Very much a kids movie but great on for adults too, especially if you love that Halloweeny feeling! :D

Victor brings his dead dog back to life but must deal with the consequences. Sad but funny at times and so so beautiful looking, especially for Halloween time. Also Mr. Whiskers. Watch for Mr. Whiskers.

3 Movies You Should Watch This Halloween #3

16 Oct 2015

I've hear so much about this around Halloween every year. It seems to be a lot of peoples childhood favourite movie along with Hocus Pocus. Steve and I only got around to watching it last year I think. It was a book first by Ray Bradbury and then made into an animated movie. It's about four friends who are going trick or treating when one of their friends falls ill who they must try and save while learning about the origins of their Halloween costumes. I'm making it sound more confusing than it is haha! Definitely worth the watch even if you're an adult. I loved this one. Also the late great Leonard Nimoy does a voice in it.

This is one I need to rewatch again soon. A group of friends must stop Dracula and his monster friends from taking over their hometown. This is another one I wish I'd watched when I was a kid! Tom Noonan plays Frankenstien's Monster! We love Tom Noonan. He's in everything.

Tony moves to Scotland with his parents and his life is miserable. He then befriends a vampire boy named Rudolph! This one I remember watching when I was younger. I loved it so much! I watched it over and over and it's still one of my favourite movies now! :D Lots of familiar faces in this including Fitz in Agents of Shield!

ASOS Ghost Leggings - Halloween Lookbook #3

15 Oct 2015

My final series post with the amazing ASOS ghost leggings! For the first look that's comfy and casual click here and for the second look which is much more edgy click here :)

For this look I went a bit more dressy and fancy! Well for me anyhow :P My top is sleeveless even though you can't see, it has slits at the sides which I love and you can see more of in the video below. I got it in Penneys/Primark in the summer months so not such if it's still available.

My faux leather jacket is also from Penneys/Primark. My hat I'm not too sure where I got it! Might have been New Look or Penneys also! My midi rings are from Penneys/Primark but the rest of the jewellery I made myself. The crescent moon/pentagram necklace was made by me and the Ankh earrings also made by me which I always got complimented on when out and about! Everyone seems to love them!

My boots I got in New Look awhile ago. They have a bit of a heal and lots of studs! So pretty! :)

For some reason we didn't seem to take as much pictures of this look, I think we were getting tired and hungry :P, but you can see it in more detail in my video below!

I also got Steve to film some clips of all three outfits which I made into a YouTube video. Even though my editing software is just horrible I do like how it turned out in the end. The only audio is birds singing which I recorded while we were there in the graveyard. I searched the internet for free music to play over it but could find nothing fitting so then I thought why not just play your own music over it or you could play one of these that I have picked, that all go super well with the video!

Ghost - If You Have Ghosts (Roky Erickson Cover)
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Spellbound
Roky Erickson - Night of the Vampire

Will you be buying yourself some ASOS Ghost Leggings!? Have you bought any Halloween related clothing items this year yet? Let me know in the comments below! :D

Thanks for reading!

ASOS Ghost Leggings - Halloween Lookbook #2

14 Oct 2015

I think this may have been my favourite outfit of all three. This is the more edgy rock look compared to yesterday's more casual and comfy look. If I could, I would go out like this everyday. But the effort though :P Haha!

With this look I have paired the amazing ASOS Ghost Leggings (more in dept review on my first outfit post) with my Fright Rags Vincent Price t-shirt! How amazing is this tee? Just perfect for Halloween. Unfortunately I don't think it's available anymore on the Fright Rags site but they do sometimes bring some tees back from the graveyard so keep an eye on their site.

My fake leather jacket is from Penneys/Primark. I got it for €14 and it's actually really good quality. I may have to go back for another so I can DIY it! I have a Beetlejuice patch that needs to go somewhere.

My choker is the same one I was wearing in my first outfit, that I made. Those amazing skeleton earrings actually glow in the dark and are from Claire's Accessories. They're so comfy to wear! I know I'll be wearing them loads this Halloween/October/Autumn/Winter/Always. You can't actually see them that well but I'm also wearing some rings from Penneys/Primark but you can get a closer look at them in my video below along with my Doc Martens which I was also wearing!

My final look with the ASOS Ghost Leggings will be up tomorrow. Lots more Halloween outfits to come though! :D

Thanks to Steve for taking all the awesome photos <3
